Home For Christmas

This is a card I made a for Christmas last year. I love a lodge look - to me it just screams cozy and warm. I used a little bit of paper from 6"x8" Simple Stories Vintage Christmas Lodge Collection Paper Pad and Simple Stories Vintage Christmas Lodge - Ephemera- Bits and Pieces. For the embossed paper I used a Spellbinders Cut and Emboss folder called Laurel and Bows. I am fairly certain that this embossing folder has been discontinued because I have had it for a very long time.

Once I had embossed the paper, I decided that I didn't want a window in the card but wanted to highlight the sentiment. I liked the "Home For Christmas" sentiment. I played around with what I would like to use for the sentiment background and decided that the black holly paper would be just perfect. I went ahead and glued the three pieces together to beef it up a bit. I cut the holly ephemera in two pieces to put on both sides as the wording. I used foam dots to pop up the sentiment, the cardinal and the little hearts.

I left the inside of the card blank because I find that most of the time I prefer to handwrite my message in the inside.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a Blessed and Happy New Year.
