Valentine Cupcake

Hello! Valentine's day is just a week away, so I am definitely wrapping up my cards. I have a friend who is an amazing baker, so this one will be going to her for sure! For some reason, I have been on a shaker card kick.

The only die that I used for this card is Pretty Pink Posh's Big Valentine Cupcake Die. This particular die isn't a shaker, but I turned it into one by some strategic paper cutting.

I cut two of the frosting cupcake tops. One will be for the shaker back and the other one will be put on top of the acetate part of the shaker card. Using an Xacto knife, I trimmed in about an eighth of an inch in from the outside edge and definition lines.

I used the frosting part of the die to cut an opening in the cardstock that will be the front of my card, then I glued a piece of acetate to the back of that piece to create the shaker window.

On that same piece of cardstock, I used foam tape to start creating the depth I would need for the confetti to move freely. I did use a piece of Pop Up Die Cutting Foam from Spellbinders, to cut out the frosting shape so I would have a nice clean finish to the window.

Then I added my confetti. I placed the second frosting cutout on top of that opening so I have a matching finish on the inside of the window. Once the protective paper was peeled off the foam tape, I adhered a piece of white cardstock on top to seal everything together.

I have a link to my YouTube video that shows the actually process which is so much better than I can explain it.

On the front of the card, I glued the XOXO Heart Border Die at the bottom of the card and then placed a sentiment cut from the Sentiment Strips: Valentine Stamp on top.

I used different colors of shimmer and glitter paper to cut out the pieces for the rest of the cupcake.

This was actually a really quick and fun card to make. I will probably make more for the different seasons.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you have a sweet Valentines Day.

Sandy
