Hello my crafty friends. Today I made a card for a very special friend. The card says she's amazing but she is so much more than that.
It had been awhile since I made a shutter card so that was what I decided to do. I wanted to keep the card soft and simple, so I didn't use any stamps for this card other than the sentiment which is from More Magic Messages. I thought that a black inked sentiment would be too bold, so I used a gold metallic embossing powder.
For this card, I used paper from Spiffy Speckles and Flower Market. The solid paper is Speckled Eggshell Cardstock.
For the card I used the the Shutter Card Die and the Shutter Card Add On. To trim out the panels on the outside of the card, I used the Lacy Borders Die.
For the wreath around the sentiment opening I used: Spring Sprig for the greenery, Christmas Garland for the bows and berries and Build A House Spring Add On for the little flowers. For the bottom of the card on the inside, I used: Grassy Border for the grass, Build A House Spring Add On for the picket fence and the Cattails Border, On the grass and cattails, I touched up the green paper with Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide to add a little interest,
For the back of the card I cut a rectangle from the Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables and added the lacy border to it before I adhered it to the card. I like having an area separate from the design so that I can write a personal note.
